Martin Hargreaves, Programme Leader, MA The Body in Performance at Trinity Laban talks to Grace Schwindt about the social, cultural, political and philosophical constitution of the body in performance-based practice, and in relation to her own work.
This is an event to accompany the exhibition Grace Schwindt: Only a Free Individual Can Create a Free Society.
Born in 1979 in Germany, Schwindt is an artist based in London working with film, live performance and sculpture. Recent solo presentations include exhibitions at White Columns in New York in 2010, ICA, London in 2010 and the South London Gallery in 2011.
MoreThis feature length film, by London-based German artist Schwindt, is her most ambitious production and our largest film production to date. Nine partners, three of whom are international, were involved in the commissioning of the film and it toured to eight venues, with bespoke installations at each venue.
