The Independent Workers of Great Britain (IWGB) present their photographs and discuss their work in a series of talks with Werker Magazine, in relation to Werker 10: Community Darkroom which explores invisible labour through social photography.
The IWGB are an independent union fighting for the rights of workers, predominantly cleaners, in London. Over the last six years they have been involved in struggles against many of London's largest corporations; campaigning for a living wage, sick pay, pensions, and above all, respect.
This is an event to accompany the exhibition Werker 10: Community Darkroom
As part of the Communal Knowledge programme in 2014 The Showroom invited Werker Magazine to extend work and research that began as part of The Grand Domestic Revolution GOES ON in 2012 and related workshops with Justice for Domestic Workers that developed from this, Bilderkritik 2 and Work Like This.
