Tejswini Sonawane is a printmaker from Sholapur, Maharashtra, India. She lives and works in Bombay.
Tejswini graduated from the Sir JJ School of Art with an MFA in Printmaking in 2011. She has since had solo shows at Clark House Initiative, Bombay; Jehangir Art Gallery, Bombay; Busan Art Fair and has participated in group shows in Paris, Brussels, Baroda, New Delhi, Gallery Chemould, and across India. She is a member of Clark House Initiative.
She works with woodcuts as large-scale mono-prints on cloth. Her work deals with her own reflections on emotions through animal portraits and comes from her years in Dharavi where she lived with her family, who were leather tanners and skinners of dead animals. She has won various awards, and runs the Clark House Print Studio in Sholapur.
